HFCC financial aid

Anyone else having issues getting their award letter from HFCC? I have been sending emails for a month, financial aid mailbox is full and I finally found someones who wasn't but still no word. I went in on my lunch hour to find about 100 people in line, no clue whats going on. I filled out my FASFA in March and got an email from them days later saying it was complete and sent to the school. I'm super stressed :banghead:. Guess I have to take a day off of work ugh!

I havent received mine yet either but you can go to mywebadvisor website and there you can view and print out your letter under Financial Aid Award Letter. Thats how I knew that I received some kind of financial help. Good luck:)

I check the site about 4 times a day and it says there is no report for 2009 yet. I even called FASFA today to make sure there was no problem on their end and they said everything is in order that I just have to wait for the school :(

According to a few students that i have talked to, Financial Aid is unbelievably far behind in paperwork. The mail bins are overflowing and they are STILL working on appeal letters from Winter and Spring semester. Everyone is catching the blues with them this year so honestly expect for it to be a last minute situation. Try looking into No Worker Left Behind if things get really bad for you.

Are you looking for you award letter for the fall? If so dont hold your breath they are VERY behind in paper work. Im in a online class for the summer, it is an 8 week long semester and I just got my award letter, and the semester was half way over. They will not drop any of your classes, but untill you actually get awarded, you are solo to get your books. My book was $120 outta pocket- that I didnt have. If you can Id advise you to see if you can get your books used from an online store, you can email your teachers to get the exact books you need. I just graduated from the nursing program in may, (Im taken classes for my bsn), but in the almost 4 years at HFCC they have never been this far behind.

If you REALLY need to talk to some one from fin aid, Id email them, it might take 2 or 3 days to write back, but it much better than spending a WHOLE day there. Good luck.

In the email i recieved from them its because of "new law changes that could give out more financial aid", It is also do to "software and internal delays" since they are intreperting new laws. I recieved a email saying that my letter would be mailed in 2-3 days.....2 1/2 months ago I still have yet to see the copy they "mailed". i ended up printing it off my computer and taking it up there. Plus if there are more students being accepted I am sure that means more Fin. aid being requested which will mean a backlog in things being sent out.

This was my situation, exactly.

I finally saw my award go up on webadvisor in June.

Never received anything in the mail, printed out the letter myself and waited 30 min. at the office to turn it in last week.

A fellow classmate of mine just got his award letter this week.

This is first for HFCC, they've always been pretty timely.
