  1. EMU has online BSN classes, but their program does have a 1semester clinical aspect. It is community health rotation, it was once a week for 10weeks, everything else was online.
  2. I have 2 years exp. in "LTC" and can NOT even get a call back from a hospital. I live in Michigan, and it appears that they count long term care as NO experience ... SO up setting, I love my job and my pts, but I want more. At my center, we do Trachs, tube feedings, pcp pumps, I start IV's everyday, and do admits and discharges with 20 plus pts everyday.... So really why can I not find anything???
  3. cheap place to get TB in detroit/ down river area? I just passed boards! And im tryn to get all my ducks lined up, for the continued job search, I want everything up to date. I, doing my BLS this week end. Thanks for any help! ***lol, the tb test, not to catch tb
  4. the TRICK worked for me and every1 in my class so far. I had 75? and found out this morning- I passed, Im an RN !!! People in my class that passed had all sorts of random numbers (75, 89, 107,165, 265) So theres ALWAYS hope. I left the test knowing I did not pass cuz all the questions seemed a easy level and yet I still didnt seem confident on the answers. But I did not stress my self out because I have learned so much and I am a great nurse, if I did happen to fail, it would suck, but every one has a bad day and I wasnt gonna let one bad test label me! I came home a checked the p vue site 2 hrs after the exam, and I got the pop up, and prayed for 2 days that the trick worked, and it did. :wink2:
  5. Ok, I just got my quick results from pvue: Im an RN!!! So the 'trick' worked for me!
  6. congrats on the ATT. Just stay focused and youll do great! BEST OF LUCK!!!
  7. mia98 let us know how you did! Im have to wait till tomorrow to get mt unofficial results thru p vue... so Im prayn with you. Plus i did the p vue trick and I got the pop-up, so im prayn it works for me too!:)
  8. no, I hated the test. I questions seemed to vague and I wasnt much fonder of the answers. But I read the questions, looking for key words, and answered with an educated guess. After reading the questions, I could think of the best answer in my head, but it wasnt a option, so I had to pick the least stupidest choice. I can get my unofficial results from pearson thursday morning, and Ill post the results, till then Ill be prayn. The pop up, stated that I have recently taken the test and I cant reschedule at this time and to contact the member board. Reading the pearson trick a million times it says if it goes to the credit card screen- you failed, so far every1 Ive talked to it has been correct... So im prayn it is for me too!
  9. I took the nclex-rn this morning, I was done in 40mins- 75 questions and it stopped... I dont even know how I feel about it- and now Im a nervous wreck. I did the p vue trick- and I got the pop-up. I just dont know what to think..
  10. Are you looking for you award letter for the fall? If so dont hold your breath they are VERY behind in paper work. Im in a online class for the summer, it is an 8 week long semester and I just got my award letter, and the semester was half way over. They will not drop any of your classes, but untill you actually get awarded, you are solo to get your books. My book was $120 outta pocket- that I didnt have. If you can Id advise you to see if you can get your books used from an online store, you can email your teachers to get the exact books you need. I just graduated from the nursing program in may, (Im taken classes for my bsn), but in the almost 4 years at HFCC they have never been this far behind. If you REALLY need to talk to some one from fin aid, Id email them, it might take 2 or 3 days to write back, but it much better than spending a WHOLE day there. Good luck.
  11. i 2nd that 80% on the pharm test. Psych it depends where your at, yes they are locked units, most places you get a set of keys, but some places only the instructor gets them. In psych you dont wear you smurf uniform you wear dress/casual clothes. Psych can be intresting, but for the most part, I thought it was boring, Cliniclas are basically everywhere and its the luck of the draw--- what you get, is what you get. 1st semester after you learn your basic nursing skills, you will be in the hospital with your clinical group, but you will have your patient. Things are scary at 1st, you will stand out side of their room and say, wow this is real.... and i dont wanna go in there! (I did, lol).... but dont worry you will learn SO much, SO fast. any other ???s, feel free....
  12. eluska_22, no problem. 1st semster, you are going to learn a lot. To get ready for for the pharm test, they give you a online lecture type to prepare you for they test, just read the info slowly and carefully, its not too difficult. Most of the info you should recall from pharm class, if its new to you write it down. And you get 3 times to pass the pharm and math test (but you'll do it the first time ). The math test, you buy a module (get that as soon as you can it will be your guide for the whole semester) it should be ready in the beginning of august, it will show you how to do the math, learn from the module, not from the math for meds book. Plus they have a class that you veiw the math prior to the exam. If you are horrible w/ math you can pay for an extra math class. but it trully isnt too bad, and you'll have a math exam every semester till you graduate. 1st semester clinicalsare 1 day a week 6 or 7 hrs. The info is going to be thrown at you (in a nice way of course, lol), just prepair yourself to take on the world. The material turlly isnt that bad, its just a lot, so time management is key to success. and just remember it is do-able. hope this helps! anything else, just ask sorry for any spelling errors, typed this fast
  13. may 9th, I'll be walking too. Im SO ready.:w00t::clpty::dancgrp::[anb]:
  14. I know (at least at my hospital) they have a "hiring freeze' not because there are too many nurses, but because there isn't enough money to hire new nurses. They still need nurses, and they still hire thru the 'freeze' but not in bulk hiring, its just slow (and not so steady) lol. But we will all find a job, may not be our 1st choices, but we tuffed it out thru nursing school (esp hfcc!!!) and this is just yet a nother hill to climb... good luck to all
  15. congrats to you all! I graduate in less than a month an heres a little advice: dont stress and ENJOY your summer, dont cram or stress, thats what the next 2 years are for . any questions feel free too ask!
