Has anyone taken it? I'm taking it on Monday. What can I expect? I'm freaking out because I just printed out the study manual online and I am getting half of the grammar stuff wrong and I barely know the science because its been so long since I have taken any of these classes! What score is considered passing? How is this exam scored? Do you have to get a certain percent in every section (ie reading, math, science)? I am stressing out and feel like I don't have enough time to relearn this material!

Hey there,
The HESI exam is pretty simple. Basic math, some medical terms for vocabs, basic science, and reading. I forget what else...I think that's it. Depending on what program you're doing it's a different %age. I took it for the BSN program and you need to score an OVERALL 80%. This was back in November, so I don't know if there's been a change. I doubt it.It's score by points, 1 point per question. I didn't really study for it. The counselor gave me a book to review from the of the exam. All I needed to brush up on was math. I forgot all of those fractions. Also, know how to do percentages. It shouldn't be too bad. Just do the study manual. It should help. Good Luck!

At my school we took HESI every semester after each specialty and then took an exit HESI to graduate and had to get 75%. I studied the book, case studies, and PracTest questions. If you have the book, the HESI hints are pretty helpful. Math, I believe is weighted more than the other questions because it is a safety question. Good luck to you!

I took the test a few weeks ago - math is not weighted more. I did not score well in the math but did pass the test due to scoring so high in the other sections.

Hey everyone, I am planning on attending West Coast University in November 2010. I was wondering if anyone knows how hard the HESI EXIT EXAMS are after each semester and how all that works? Thanks!
