Hi everyone, I'm new to this forum and I'm currently feeling overwhelmed right now, knowing the fact that I will be taking the HESI a2 exam for the first time this Saturday.
To prepare for my hesi a2 exam, I used a lot of resources because I was feeling extremely anxious and nervous on not knowing what to expect. I only have to take math, english, vocabulary, grammer, and AP for intended schools.
In total, I have used and is currently using a few now:
-Hesi Admission Assessment Exam Review 4th Edition
-Hesi A2 Pocket Prep 2017 (purple app)
-www.mometrix.com/practice tests
-www.studystack.com for AP
-quizlet for vocabulary + math conversions (I created my own set and am currently using a different vocab set) (currently using)
- the Hesi 2 comprehensive practice exams
- AP websites to help refresh my AP knowledge
-youtube for subject-verb agreement
I have read lots of review about the HESI a2 on here and most of you mentioned to study more in depth for AP, and I think that's where I am stuck on. I don't know which system to mainly focus on, and I'm just reviewing all of the systems, which makes me feel overwhelmed. I'm having the most trouble with grammar and I did a few practice problems, but it frustrates me to see that I can't seem to understand it all. I suffer from general anxiety so I'm really worried and nervous right now, about not being able to do well on my HESI. Like I can't stop worrying about it and I feel like no matter how much I study, I'm not studying enough and that puts pressure on me because I have to focus on my other classes too. I had people telling me I do too much and that I'm "extra" but I can't help it, I like to know what to expect so I can be prepared beforehand. Maybe that's why I've been struggling and pacing back and forth on trying to study for everything.
If anyone can give me advice on what to mainly focus on for AP or suggest any website that was helpful for you guys, please let me know. I could use all the help I can get, thank you!

How did you do ?
I did pretty well but not enough to be competitive. My score is:
Reading Comprehension: 92%
Math: 86%
AP: 84%
Vocab: 78%
Grammer: 74%
Overall: 82%
I rushed through grammer because I thought I didn't have much time left, and I also speed through math a bit, and if I hadn't, I would've made an A on math. The vocabulary section was the hardest, which I was really shocked to know because I had memorized every word on the vocab list in the HESI 4th edition book. But on the test, most of the questions were based on words other than the ones in the vocab, which was a bummer. So the subject I was most confident in (vocab) turned out to be one of my lowest sadly. I plan on retaking it on the first week of next month to try and get a better score.

We moved your thread to our HESI Exam forum.
Your scores aren't too bad for the first time , but I understand the need for being competitive for your school, im sure you'll do much better the next time around.
Also did it have supporting context clues around it ? Or was it like " what is the definition of aegis" kind of thing

Do you mind me asking if you could break down the sections a little bit more? You have the most recent post about HESI. I take the A&P, grammar, math, reading, and vocab. Really nervous about A&P, Vocab, and Grammar. Any tips will be greatly appreciated!!

I took it in January, for a 98 on vocab. They were all in context as far as I remember! I thought that helped a lot!
you have great scores! For vocab, was there any words that were similar to the pocket prep app? And when you say it asked about muscles/bones can you give an example?! Also, what do you mine by know where the hormones come from? (Knowing which gland?) thanks in advance and congrats on your scores!!!

Hello, I take my Hesi Exam for Chamberlain in a couple weeks...Do you have any last minute tips? I have an overall 3.7gpa but I am very nervous about taking this exam...What are the Biology/Chemistry/AP questions like? I have been using McGraw-Hill's 3 Evolve Reach Practices Tests (Hesi A2) and I am pretty intimidated by some of the questions involving parts of plants/worms/beeswax, etc...were there any questions like that on the biology part? Do you suggest any websites where they had free practice tests? Thank you.

Hey Everyone,
Im taking the HESI A2 at Mt San Antonio college California in about 3 weeks august 15th. Im studying about 3 hrs during the week and weekends all day with breaks in between. IM concerned for the math portion. I asked some coworkers in the hospital I work and then say its easy, some barely studied and got 90's. They said to focus on proportions, ratios, and fractions. I started to review the elsevier admission assessment 4 th edition and it seems basic stuff. In comparison to Trivium HESI A2 prep, math is more in depth as in word problems that they don't give examples on. In regards to word problems, how complex are they. I feel math is my weakest and worried about the unit conversions( Metric, standard etc.)
For anatomy and physic is semi fresh within a year of taking them. Majority of the practice exams I've been getting 20/25, 23/25, 25/25 and thats without even reviewing.
Grammar: I brushed up on it and refreshing.
Vocab: worried because I here study only the vocab on the book, but then theres a crap load of other words on other exams that i never seen for example the McGraw exams.
Reading: haven't gone to much in depth with this topic, but seems heavy.
Like I said, I am mainly worried about math, but if someone can fill me in on the topics it would help. Please and thank you.

I have taken it twice and did not pass the math either time. 90's on everything else. I do not know what to do.

Vicki, Try YouTubing every topic in the Elseier Review Book. I'm preparing now, and I am doing that. Also, there is a tutor named Kasiwani, he does a good job, and he follows the book Closely.
Happy trails
