Schools make that rule because if you make at least an 850 you are more than likely to pass the boards the first try! Do you have the HESI comprehensive study guide? It's great! It goes over every area of nursing and comes with access to online questions. Also do questions on NCLEX 4000. Between those I scored a 900 on HESI 1 and have scored in the 1000s on the others.
Not necessarily. Every school in my area has this rule. It's very common.
not talking about the test in general... moreso the abrupt change. especially, 5 weeks prior to ending the term... i know why schools implement these types of test. loving how they sell it as an indicator of how successful you will be when you sit for boards. people who scored well above the recommended minimum still failed the NCLEX.
catmom713... use evolve if you have that resource. use that book you bought also... those helped me most when i was in nursing school.

Our school just changed the rules 5 weeks before we graduate that we MUST pass the RN exit with 850 or higher. It was 650. I am looking for any study guides or tips that anyone has for the HESI. We are given V1 for our first try. I have not reached that high on any of the exams so far, we are all freaking out !!
