HESI A2

Published

Hello, everyone! I know some of you here already took the HESI A2 Entrance Exam. I will take mine on July 13, and I'm a bit nervous.

Any tips? The areas that I will be tested on are Math, Grammar, Reading Comprehension, Vocabulary, and Anatomy&Physiology. I already have the HESI book Elsevier. I've read that the book itself is useful enough to study for the HESI. Any websites that helped you pass the test?

I used the book, the youtube videos for the hesi A2 study guide from mometrix, and the HESI A2 Exam Prep app by Pocket Prep (I paid for the full version). I didn't have to take the A&P section, since my school doesn't require it but I did have to take the chem and biology sections along with everything else and I got a 91%. I used the videos to help review the stuff and then used the book and the app to really study the rest of the time.

I heard about the Pocket Prep App but unfortunately, my android phone (Samsung S4) doesn't support it :( Our school requires A&P, but not Chem. and Physics.

You can download the HESI A2 app on your android

Yah, I have the HESI A2 App... I love it! :)

hey can you give me some advice on the HESI A2 Entrance Exam please. I want to take it ASAP.

@gilberttromario

My school required MATH, Grammar, Vocab, Reading, A&P, and Critical Thinking for HESI A2? In Math part, just study the HESI Book (Elsevier). Don't take those simple Math problems for granted. Know your fractions (subtractions,addition,multiplication, and division). Know your ratio and proportions. Make sure you know how to solve word problems. Know your conversions. I watch youtube videos about conversions, and the MNEMONIC: King Henry Died Unexpectedly Drinking Chocolate Milk helped me a lot in conversions. Watch the youtube video about it :)

In Grammar, read your HESI book and that's all you need to know. Most questions are recognizing grammatically correct and not gramatically correct.

In Vocab, study the HESI book. Also, this website helped me a lot as well Vocabulary Tests Available for "hesi a2"

In Reading part, the book will help you as well in recognizing certain things in the passage.

In A&P, the HESI book is very helpful, but it is also advisable to look for another A&P study sources. I can honestly say, I didn't like study for A&P. I just take the practice tests in the book, and other websites for practice test.

In Critical Thinking, there is no practice test or study guide for this (unfortunately). It's more like common sense, but can be tricky. You will be given a scenario and you have 4 choices to pick from. There is no wrong answers, however, your answer is equivalent to some points. Know the ABC's (Airways, Breathing, and Circulation). You have to help the person first that has a blockage in their airways, than the person that has a problem with their circulation. Another thing, review the Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs. Once you know these, you should be able to answer Critical Thinking smoothly without a problem.

Good Luck and God Bless!
