Hesi A2 PBSC Spring 2012

Has anyone taken the Hesi A2 and PBSC yet? any have any idea of what the point cut off will be for spring 2012

I was out of the country and was not able to register to the test.... Do you know if I can take at FAU?

I THINK so! At the information session, they said you can take the exam elsewhere but they were not allowed to tell you where. I panicked when the PBSC spots filled up and registered through Prometric to take it next week at the FAU campus. Just to be safe, I did send an email to PBSC nursing to confirm that this is acceptable and am waiting for a response.

You may want to register soon. They say it can take up to 21 business days for your score to be available online. (also waiting for clarification on this from PBSC)

And about the points cut off.... Since this is the first cycle that does not allow NLN scores and does not give points for Sociology, maybe points will be a little lower than last Spring.

Just a little update - I heard back from the nursing dept. They confirm you can take the test anywhere, but they do not know how long it takes a score to get to them from a secondary institution. The testing center is supposed to have that information...

You can take it somewhere else but just make sure it covers all the subject areas that they will offer at PBSC and the testing fee is a lot more. they did day a minimum of 75 is needed to be entered in the application pool even though this is the first time for the test I do not believe they would lower the threshold.

I was referring to the application points for this batch of applicants - my bet is they will be a little lower than next semester's applicants. (edit: I don't think PBSC will lower the criteria - this could just be a sliiightly less competitive pool) Most people (like me) may only be taking the HESI once and will be "stuck" with that score. Or haven't had a chance to take Critical Thinking, etc...

Another update about taking the HESI off-site: DON'T DO IT! At least not at the Prometric site at FAU. I registered online with the PBSC code, then called to confirm that there are 10 sections. There are only 9! Elsevier says that PBSC did not authorize them to give the Critical Thinking section, and they cannot just add it. Now I'm waiting on an update from PBSC...

Meanwhile, I was able to register through PBSC. If you watch the testing page like a hawk, seats have been opening up...

Be careful!

I'm optimistic so I feel the lowest people will have is around the 80s granted registering for the test did lower the number of applicants since it was on a first come first served. By the fall semester they will have testing dates year round so in a sense we may have a greater chance of getting in this year.

Just took my HESI A2 exam. Anyone taken the exam already and want to discuss what they thought of it? I thought the Anatomy & Physiology questions were quite challenging.

From what I am hearing it is very very specific and I am a little worried about the Bio section.

I am hearing that too. I am starting to worry. I am typing up a detailed review sheet outlining major points from each science section and should have it done by Tuesday if anyone wants it.

Anyone think the cutoff could drop to as low as 26 for LW? I wonder if the sociology pt being taken away and the new test would make such a difference... Just wondering

Can someone give me a breakdown of how many questions in each section? The website says a total of 301 questions with a 4 hr time limit, but it would be great to know how many in each section. Also do you have to pass each section separately like BCC, or is it a cumulative score????
