Hello all,

I am interested in online FNP programs. I have looked at many schools and one being Herzing University for the FNP program. I talked with the advisor and the program is accredited and strictly online. Have any of you attended the school? Is it a good school? Are any of you joining the January 2018 cohort? Any input is much appreciated!

Thank you.

Hello,

Herzing is set up with classes on line for 7.5 weeks. During that time there are weekly posts (yours, then respond to two classmates).

Sometimes you'll have a short paper APA 7th ed style, Power point presentations, one video is due for your first clinical, a couple of classes had group projects, some classes have quizzes. No midterms, no finals exams.

Clinicals are 16 weeks long. You have to find your own preceptors.

I hope the helps you decide.

Herzing has a good program and you are supported throughout the program.

Hello

Yes, I graduated from Herzing in 2018.

Hello! Can anyone tell me what the 5 clinicals are that I will need to find preceptors for? I start the MSN-FNP program in March 2021 and I don’t want to be held back a semester if I  cannot find a preceptor so I would like to start looking as soon as possible. Any tips and tricks to contacting or Communicating with potential preceptors?

Hey Ashleigh!

sorry I never get on the forum and it’s been over a year!

I just graduated from Herzing and absolutely loved it! Thought the professors were amazing and wanted you to succeed! The only thing is you have to find your preceptors. I networked through LinkedIn and got my preceptors that way! But they prepare you for the certification exam and our cohort all passed this year! Also they reimburse you The fee if you pass on the first try !

I just got a job in Colorado as a new grad ? you can do it!!

Hi! How did you network  through LinkedIn? Did you send messages to nurse practitioners or managers of facilities? I am stressing out a little because I really do not want to be held back a semester if I cannot find preceptors!
