Hershey / Lancaster / Harrisburg area nursing

U.S.A. Pennsylvania

Hello all!

My family and I are relocating to the Lancaster/Hershey area at the end of this (2014) school year, and I am wondering if anyone can give me advice or information on working conditions and/or salaries for hospitals within a 30-45 minute drive?

I'm only aware of P.S. Hershey MC, Pinnacle Health, and Lancaster General; are there others that anyone recommends? I currently have my ADN and am attending University of Texas at Arlington's RN-BSN program, if that matters.

Also, any high schools to absolutely avoid?

Thank you for taking the time to respond

hey...i'm relocating to pennsylvania this summer too. I don't have any advice on the area, sorry. Just wanted to move this up because I have the same questions. Also, how is the University of Texas at Arlington's RN-BSN program? Its online right? I'm looking for RN-BSN programs too

Specializes in OR.

Just looking through old posts and came across this one. How was the transition to Central PA? I plan on moving to this area upon completion of my BSN. I am originally from this area and look forward to getting back there. Where did you end up working? I was looking at P.S. Hershey because of their nursing residency program for graduate nurses. I was curious as to what the salary was up there. Where I am currently located, graduate nurses start at $21.05 with some compensation for experience depending on the department you work in (i.e. an LPN with med surg experience, surgical tech with OR experience). Thanks for your help and congratulations!

Hi there,

I am a registered nurse in the area, love my job, my co-workers, and everything about the area. Feel free to message me questions!

Thanks.
