Any of you like me who haven't converted with their Hep B vaccines? I have had the series 3 times and I get my third titer soon to see if I converted or not. From what I understand there is only 1% of the healthy population with this type of immunity where you are essentially "immune" to Hep B but don't show conversion. A nurse told me that there is some type of antibody against it but not the textbook antibody. Anyone else hear of this?

I have the same thing!!!! Have had the series at least 3 times, (in 20 years, I forget how many) and never get the antibodies. A vaccine rep told me I was probably immune, but if I get a stick, I'm heading straight for the gamma just in case!!
I'd be interested to know if I've got some weird immunity or what the deal is

hello,
i responded after my third series. however, i was told that it was really rare to show coversion if you don't convert after having the series twice.
never heard of any other type of immunity. is she trying to tell you that even if you don't show that you are immune by conventional standards but that you really are immune anyway? i have not heard that... when i was not responding after the 2nd series, the employee health nurse and i talked about what i would have to do if i had an exposure and did not respond after the third series. i would ask an experienced occupational nurse about this! who knows, it could be true but i have never heard it!
