Hep B carrier-pls help!!!

Hi. I'm a Nurse in the Phils. I knew i had Hep B almost 5 years ago during our screening in college. Even if i was positive, my mentors did'nt inhibit me from proceeding my degree. I consulted my doctor about it and gave me medication for a monh but that was just vitamins for my liver. He told me there's no cure and it will just go away if your body formed antibodies against it. Unfortunately, mine did'nt. I'm a healthy carrier, chronic type of hep B.

It did'nt inhibit me from achieving a lot in my academics, i even graduated cum laude. I took both the IELTS and NCLEX already. Im in search for an employer right now. Recently, i went in to test if i still have it. Unluckily, i still do and my body has not formed anibody against it. I'm in search for a cure but to no avail. I'm planning to see my doctor again. What will i do? I'm afraid the Embassy will deny me of an Immigrant Visa if they found out im positive for HBsAg. I feel very healthy though. I've read the thread about thesame case as i have. But it still bothers me. I don't know of anyone who has thesame case and was granted a visa. Should i tell my employer beforehand or should i wait for the medical exam result? How true that other doctors offer a 2 year program for patients like me? I really want to work in the US so i cud help my family...Please help!!!thank you so much!:o

hi there! It's been a while since i last visited this forum. My visa gto approved already for US, as expected, my medical got pending till now. I just sent my medical certificate to teh agency who will forward it to my employer in the US. I'm anxious about what they'll say and after everything i went through with the exams, experiences and embassy interview, that tehy will go into waste. I hope my employer will see me as more than just my hap B status, that i can be an asset in their company. Please pray guys, my doctor told me it will be okay but all i can do is pray and wait for my employer's decision'...thansk!

i wish you well that someday you can work in the US to support your family,

I also hope that the embassy will approve your visa regardless of your medical condition.

I'll pray for you. :loveya:

Hi Jahda_ph

Upon reading your story, i feel sad for you but at the same time find hope. we have the same case.

i can't pinpoint where i got my infection.Found out i'm reactive when i got screened prior to donating blood.

its frustrating to put our dreams on hold. I did not work for the hospital na bcoz of this.

Right now i'm researching for ways to be cured.

God bless
