Hi,
This is something that we didn't cover but came up in our discussion group, what could be some of the reasons for hematuria (visibly) and pain in the lower abdominal region?
Thanks

I am getting this information from pages 342 to 346 Signs & Symptoms: A 2-in-1 Reference for Nurses published by Lippincott Williams & Wilkins and only picking up the diseases that specifically say gross or macrohematuria is present:
[*]Renal infarction
[*]Acute renal papillary necrosis
[*]Renal tuberculosis
[*]Renal vein thrombosis
[*]Sickle cell anemia due to congestion of the renal papillae
[*]SLE (systemic lupus erythematosus when it involves the kidneys
[*]Vaginitis that has spread to the urinary tract
