Helpful information to have handy during clinicals/lab/lecture?

Hello all!

I am starting my nursing clinicals this month (AHH ) and I am just reviewing some basic anatomy and physiology prior to starting school to refresh. I am starting to make flashcards (like little cheat-cheats) with helpful information that may come in handy during lecture/clinicals/lab this semester. For example, one card I made consisted of each of the four quadrants of the abdomen and what organs were included in each quadrant. I am still trying to come up with other helpful information that I can put in my binder and look at quickly if I need to reference something. Can anyone give me any additional information that I may want to include that would benefit me while I am studying or during a lecture as a quick reference?

Thanks! :nurse:

Lab values and what the abnormal values might represent... this information is useful almost all the time.

I start clinicals next month for level 1 and several of my classmates who are in clinicals have recommended Rnotes. Its like $25 at barnes and noble. But its got a ton of assessment info, lab values, etc. It fits into your scrub pocket AND you can write on it and wipe it off when ur done! IMO its awesome :)

Also, they told us to know everything about insulin. peak time, duration, admin sites, etc. What some of the girls started doing is typing up a chart of ALL the insulins and info then make it in small font and printing it out to where it can fit on the back of your nursing student ID. They laminated theirs and its always there if they need it for reference.
