Help With the NET, Reading Comprehension

Published

I aplogize if you've read this already, I think I've posted everywhere looking for answers.

I am taking the NET again this summer. Last summer I only got 63 on my reading comprehension and the school I want to go to requires a minimum of 70.

Now I'm trying to study for it again but focusing on the reading comprehension. I don't remember much from the time I took it, it was all a blur. But does anyone know if the it was as difficult as the GMAT reading comprehension?

UGH I AM SO FRUSTRATED

I don't have any secrets! As a matter of fact, the first time I took the NET I scored 63 on reading. The only thing I did different since then was study my butt off! I spent at least 2 straight hours a day just reading news articles, looking up any word that i don't recognize, and I did as much SAT/ACT/GRE reading comprehension questions I could find. the only difference they have from the nET is that these standardized tests often ask you to recall details from the passage whereas the NET will never ask you that. In other words, the NET is much harder.

The other piece of advice I have is to get the study guide, get the online practice test.

Feel free to let me know if there's anything else i can help you with.

Oh yea, and try to score as high as you can for math. For a lot of folks math section comes easy, but the faster you are, the more chance yuo'll have to come back and double check your answers. It's your composite score that ultimately matters so drop the math.

thank you so much. i'll take your advices and hopefully i'll get high score too.but i'm nervous because i'm not very good at english. i've been in the us for only 2yrs.:scrying:

Have you checked out this thread that's devoted to the NET? https://allnurses.com/forums/f198/all-about-net-296791.html

Csantos started it and english is his second language as well. It's my second language too, but I came to the US when I was only 11 so it's much easier for me.

Any way, check out the thread, and post all your questions, you'll find lots of useful info.
