Hi everybody! I have been reading all the wonderful, helpful forums on here. I love this website! I was wondering if anybody had advice/suggestions of what pre req of math I should take? I can either take college algebra (1314) or contemporary math (1333). I'm actually in pre algebra now and working my way up. I thought I wasn't strong in math but I have 103 grade average in my class now. Summer time I will be taking intermediate math (0305). Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!:)

What does your advisor suggest?
I didn't talk to the counsler about it. That's a good idea. I don't really know what contemporary math involes. I would have to take intermediate algebra for college algebra but not contemporary math. I did horrible on the compass test (I've been out of school for 10 years). So I started from the bottom and taking classes to lead up that way.
Your math teacher may also be able to point you in the right direction.

My school lists the prereqs for each class in the class description. I would hate to waste a semester taking a class I didn't need.
Great thank you! I'll ask her tomorrow....
Exactly. I'm making all A's right now and want to keep it up, but if I do college algebra I will have to take that extra class that means either fall 10 or spring 11 I will be taking 5 classes. This is my first semester and I plan to apply for the nursing program for fall 2011.

Take college algebra if you can. From my own limited research, every nursing program I've seen requires it. Also, if you plan to continue your nursing education, straight College Algebra is likely to be more transferable than Contemporary Math.
