Any ideas on what wages are for labor and delivery nurses in Illinois, particularly the Bloomington/Normal area? I am relocating from Texas and have no idea what wages and salaries are like? I would love any feedback!

Thanks!!!:uhoh3:

Hello. Try http://www.salary.com this site will give you an idea of what you can expect as far as wages. There's also an area where you can compare the cost of living for where you are now in Texas to where you will be relocating, as well as how much you will need to earn to continue your current lifestyle in your new location.

Hope this helps,

I don't know about wages in Bloomington/Normal, just wanted to let you know what a nice area it is. I lived there for a year, and would go back in a heartbeat, if possible. Unfortunately, hubby's company has different ideas! Good luck on your move!

It was so nice to hear positive feedback about the area. We have had lots of good comments about the area so we are excited! Definitely looking forward to a change from Texas. Any things you recommend to do in Bloomington or places to see? Thanks!!

Bloomington is home to IL Wesleyan University and Normal is home to IL State University, so there are plenty of college-type attractions. ISU has a nice performing arts center which attracts well-known tours of plays, music and dance performances. ISU also typically has a good basketball team, which is fun to watch if you enjoy collegiate sports.

There are plenty of healthcare opportunities, good restaurants, shopping, good schools, and a reasonable cost of living.

The University of IL is less than an hour away in Champaign-Urbana, with Big 10 sports and an awesome concert line-up. Peoria is also less than an hour away with plenty more healthcare opportunities and a revitalized city on the river.

Good luck with your move. I really do envy you. You wouldn't happen to know anything about Omaha would you? Wish me luck too!
