  1. I would definitely wait until you have at least graduated from your program and have then passed your NCLEX. They will need proof of these before they can start the process of licensing you. I don't think it is a bad idea to get a head start even if you will be a new grad. Did the NMC board have any specfic information on new grads? They would probably be your best source of info. Good luck with your school and your nursing pursuits!
  2. I looked into this option myself and actually contacted a agency called Continental Travelnurse. They have 13 week and up travel assignments. They are located in London and they will mail you out information on getting your nursing license there. It takes awhile, 3 or more months to get everything in order. A recruiter called me back right away and was very helpful. Good luck! Hope this helps!
  3. I am a L&D nurse considering a career change into Pharmaceutical Sales. I have been offered a position with a large company that has a good reputation. Has anyone thought of using their nursing background in other areas of healthcare such as pharmaceuticals? If so, any pros and cons you can pass along? Thanks so much!
  4. Has anyone gone through the walk through temp license process in CA? I am taking an assignment that starts on June 27th and have been unable to speak to anyone at the board in Sacramento. I just want to make sure I have all the required documents so I don't waste their time or mine. Can you get the live scan fingerprinting done on the same day you apply in person and walk away with a temp license? Thanks so much for your help!!!!!
  5. Thank you so much for your help. I will track down a copy of the mentioned book.
  6. Does anybody now of an online source or could recommend a publication that goes over the instruments (ie pictures and corresponding names) used during OB/GYN surgical procedures? Thanks so much!
  7. It was so nice to hear positive feedback about the area. We have had lots of good comments about the area so we are excited! Definitely looking forward to a change from Texas. Any things you recommend to do in Bloomington or places to see? Thanks!!
  8. Any ideas on what wages are for labor and delivery nurses in Illinois, particularly the Bloomington/Normal area? I am relocating from Texas and have no idea what wages and salaries are like? I would love any feedback! Thanks!!!
  9. Hello Everyone! I am curious if anyone knows if there are any agencies or job boards that place US nurses in foreign countries? I am a labor and delivery nurse and would love to work abroad. All I ever see are postings for international nurses to come to the US. Is there a reason for that? Any ideas/help would be greatly appreciated!
