Hello... I am trying to get into pensacola junior college LPN program and I scored 2 points too low in my health related math exam! I suck at math, but i cant take it again until the 29th of sept. is there anything i can study for it in the mean time? i would love to score high enough for RN since eventually i would like to become one... and also... how hard is the NLN? i have a study book that I have been looking at. Is there anything I can do to speed up my process? or how likely is it that I can get in the LPN program the first try if i score all that I have to??? I know... I know... A lot of questions... but I could use the help! THANKS!!!:typing

I was going to go to PJC but I did some research on the school and others in the area. I decided to go to Jefferson Davis. It is a bit longer drive but, from what I have heard it is worth it. I was talking to a nurse student in the ER one day and she told me that she went to PJC and was talking to some students that went to JDCC and she said she was lost. "They were talking over my head. I didnt know half the stuff they were talking about." Said she was concerned about the state exam. You may want to consider JDCC. Math requierments are easier and no NLN.
I start tomorrow for the RN program.

What exactly on the math are you having issues with? I'm at PJC doing my 2nd semeser of RN pre-reqs. How about that financial aid line last Weds, huh?

Hey whats up buddy, I start PJC RN program in january and I got a 26 on the health related math exam, but I did'nt really study. And as for the NLN, don't even worry about that test. Its a joke, its just hella long - three hours long -, and you need only a 50 composite to pass. I and most of my friends didnt study and we got in the 90's. If you have taken any pre req college classes you will do FINE. And remember, PJC is first come first serve, you could get a 51 composite and have a seat before someone who got a 99. Once all your pre req things are taken care of, you have a seat in the program. good luck

Mikey 0-0..do you remember me? I was on here about a month ago saying how worried I was about the NLN. Well I took it today for the 2nd time and...I PASSED!! I scored in the 50th percentile right on the dot, My composite was 99. I am so excited. I will call a counselor Monday to confirm, although I know I did it. So, what comes next? Does PJC send out the info on getting uniforms and all that stuff? I cant wait to get my confirmation email and letter!!!
All I have left is Nutrition and Socialolgy and then the NURSING CLASSES!!

Copelald....
Congrats on passing NLN...
What happens now is you wait for an acceptance letter to come in the mail. I called a few weeks ago and the lady in the nursing office said they expected to pick the Jan. class and mail letters in october. I hope it is sooner, I can't wait to start. She also said they give you all the information you need at the orientation.
If you have other non nursing classes you can keep getting them completed. I am thinking after reading a lot of these posts that PJC will be hard, but the goal is worth it. And if I can free up my other classes in advance I will. Maybe I will be more successful than others have been..
Good Luck!
Thanks so much, I hope you get your letter, and I know it may be a few months but I am definantly anticipating mine. GL and KUP on the program :mnnnrsngrk:

Yeah right. JDCC has some secret knowledge and methods that PJC does not.
ThANKS FOR THE LAUGH..
I run into a lot of this non-sense.
Believe what you want. Check the mirror for the #1 determination to pass and obtain your license.
I am guessing , yes.
Seeing how jdcc has a higher pass rate of graduating students and a higher pass rate on the nclex.
Do some research
