Help! Too many choices...

Published

Hello :nurse:

I have a bit of a tough choice here, and am looking for a little advice. I will be graduating in 5 weeks and moving to Corpus Christi. I know nothing about the hospitals there and am having a difficult time trying to select a position to apply for. I function better when I have the same routine on a daily basis, or when I have a "specific" area of nursing (like OB/GYN, psych, oncology, etc.) to work on mastering. If any of you work in Corpus, please help me out with a little information, and anybody feel free to suggest units I might enjoy working on.

So, which clinical roatation did you enjoy the most during your nursing program???

Well, I really liked L&D, postpartum, NICU, day surgery, and I'm enjoying psych so far.

My problem is that I like everything but general adult med/surg. I know how important it is, but it's just not the right place for me to work right now. Oh, and Pedi was not right for me either, I love kids but don't have any of my own, and had a really difficult time with that rotation.

I think I'd like to work in a NICU, but I don't know if there is a good one in Corpus Christi.
