  1. hi!! I am gona be working pretty soon in ICU, so am in the process of getting everything together. I do need a new stethoscope. Can anyone recommend what kind of stethoscope would be best for MEDICA/RESPIRATORY ICU?? Would appreciate all the comments. THankyou
  2. If you need help with locating new grad Rn programs in CA. Lemme know, may be i can help you out. I have been doing alot of job searching...Good luck
  3. Hi everyone!! Any idea how much New Grad RN gets paid at Cedar-Sinai in LA area in Cali??
  4. May be you need to apply to the New Grad RN programs around your area. Since you've never ACTUALLY worked as an RN. I graduated in Dec 07 and do have my RN license, but still havent gotten a job yet! yikes!!! What part of california are you in? North/South The reason i asked is cuz its way harder to get a job up north compare to LA area.
  5. So are you going to move to Bay Area after your graduation in December??? I would recommend Stanford/Lucile, UCSF, California Pacific, UC Davis Medical Center, Alta Bates (Berkeley/Oakland), Kaiser Permanente...dont know if I answered your question or not. but hope this helps!! GOOD LUCK!!
  6. http://westandforcare.com/Careers/RNResidencyLPCH.htm http://nursing.ucsfmedicalcenter.org/education/training_prog.asp HOPE THIS HELPS!!! PLZ DONT GET OFFENDED...BUT MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A JOB, before you move to the BAY AREA...im from LA, and I couldn't get a job up north so had to come back home (went through so much)...as a nurse to the fellow nurse I would recommend to be very careful about your move...
  7. So, which clinical roatation did you enjoy the most during your nursing program???
  8. I was in your position once...originally from california, but moved to other state to get my RN..came back to CA, took my NCLEX n passed it...I applied for ATT online (after recieving my IP within 3 weeks of applying) and got it within 2 hours...took the test-passd it, my name was on the website the 3rd morning and d license was in the mail 2 weeks after that. Even though I didnt do the livescan fingerprints, the process didnt take too long. It was processed within 3 weeks for me..sorry..dont knoe if i really answered your question...lemme know if anythin...
  9. I have been thinking of doing my RN-BSN online through SFASU...Any advice/comments I can get from somebody whoz in the program or a graduate. Would really appreciate it. Thankyou!
  10. I graduated from IUON and one of its patner schools not too long ago. And I highly dont recommend IUON because of numerous reason. I strongly believe their program is not good enough to prepare you for the real world (US) nursing...its pretty unstable (or atleast was when i waz there in 2006)...I feel like i wasted my time at IUON..but i was able to learn alot at the partner school. that is where i waz prepared to take the nclex exam NOT AT IUON...according to me, program is weak! doesnt prepare you enough! lack of liason between student body and the administration leads to numerous unresolved student issued...Clinical portion at the island sucked! Nursing experience on the island was completely different compare to US nursing experience. I feel like they are after the $$. for instance. As a transfer student I had all the courses required to attain a BA, but i was forced to 14 extra credits both semesters because i need to get 24 credit (from IUON) in order to transfer...Not mentioning the fact that food is not so fresh at the super market, but the island is defnitely pretty... sorry for the negative comments...but thats how i feel as an IUON graduate...may be they have gotten better since 2006 (BUT I REALLY DOUBT IT) Dont know if i answered all your questions...
  11. hi everyone... im a New RN (from California) and am thinking of getting my CRNA license in near future. Are there any CRNA graduate/ students out there who would like to share their experience/ideas/comments/thoughts? would kindly appreciate any feedback. thank you

  13. Dear Mazykate I just graduated from that school and i would not recommend going there...its extremely unstable from every perspective...
