Help me think..

Help me think outside the box.

I am about to graduate, and understand that the chances of finding work at a hospital are slim. So, what other places can a new nurse grad apply?

Nursing homes

Prisons

Where else? What am I not thinking of?

Any help is appreciated.

I'm editing this to include the military. That's not valid for me, however, due to severe asthma.

Around August employers that hold immunization clinics will be looking for nurses. One of them started advertising in my area last month. This is a good job for a new nurse. It isn't much, but it is a start for a job.

Darn skippy that would work! Thank you so much. I had never even thought of/heard of that.

Psych Hospitals, passing meds etc.

Thank you, thank you! I will most certainly check into those too! The more I consider these, the less afraid I am. I don't have any strong desire toward a particular kind of nursing, except for Hospice nursing. Now that really gets my soul on fire (so I go there for free on weekends :redbeathe). Otherwise, I just really want to help people in any way I can, with my new degree.

Thanks again for pointing me toward psych.
