help on taking nclex for IL state

Published

hi i just graduated last march and still waiting for the local board exam result. however am planning to take nclex, id rather start moving than waiting. i went to http://www.idfpr.com the site for nclex, i downloaded this packet which includes different application forms, one is the application for licensure and/or examination, there is also this verification by licensing agency/ board, the certification for education and finger printing. is this what i need to apply for my nclex exam, am having a hard time if anyone can help it will be much appreciated.

also i dont how to get the finger printing card. where do i get that? i have a friend who applied in cali that has extra finger printing card, is that the same card that they require in IL?i went to california site and their procedure was so easy to understand it indicates a step by step process about the nclex requirements compared to IL. im really confused.

lastly, i know that IL wont need cgfns anymore, but is IELTS accepted as the english test requirement? because thats what am planning to take. thanks so much if anyone can help me in this matter.

hello there! congratulations on your graduation and :welcome:

your question belongs to the international forum. there is a long discussion there about application for il (page 3, i think). anyway, here is a helpful link: https://allnurses.com/forums/f75/ms-suzanne-anyone-who-applying-illinois-pls-help-155888.html . it has several pages filled with info that can help you.

for international graduates, here are the requirements for il:

http://www.idfpr.com/dpr/apply/forms/cgfns_02.pdf

you can find that link in the same site where you downloaded the forms.

the latest direct info somebody got about the english requirement is that it is toefl and not ielts. (in manila and cebu, toefl ibt is now available).

send email to idfpr to request for fingerprint card and instructions. it will arrive within 3 weeks. fingerprint card for ca cannot be used for il. fingerprinting can be done in nbi office in carriedo quiapo or regional offices if outside metro manila. in sending back the card, read the link above about the discussion for il and you will know what to do. if you have further questions/messages about this, post in that link and not here so everybody in the international forum can help you.

goodluck!

Check State of Illinois : Department of Financial and Professional Regulation the requirement are there Under written application for RN. I think you need CGFNS, etc.

By endorsement or examination, its all the same now.
