  1. Hi I am going to start home health in 2 days, I'll be visiting 4 patients in 1 day but I have no clue on what to do since this is my 1st time and I dont have the 485's yet. Can someone give me insights on what to expect on doing the visits. Will I just assess, take vitals or is there any special procedures I have to do.. pls help
  2. Hi guys I'm getting a CCU/ICU Interview this Monday on one of the renowned hospitals here in Chicago, I really want to impress my interviewer. Thoughts on the common ICU/CCU interview questions anyone?
  3. Hi Ashley, thank you for your feedback, what you said answered my question regarding the candidate to be the one calling. It does make sense they do it to save time rather than them calling the candidate after a week and finding out she's not interested anymore. I did very good with the Nurse Manager, but the Head Doctor does not seem to be in favor of me, he interviewed me for about a minute which the HR emphasized its the Doctor's typical interview. Hope everything goes well. I got another interview on Monday.
  4. I was interview yesterday by the nurse manager everything went well and I think he was impressed, on the middle of the interview I was asked to meet with the head Dr. of the department , said 'Hi' and 'Hello', his tone of voice is a bit off (not that polite but not rude also) then continued with the NM, at the end of the interview he was discussing the position I'm getting into, oriented me with the area and the benefits of my position told me to think about what I've learned and asked me to call him if I am interested with the position and we can move on to the next level of interview.. I was expecting him to say 'We will call you' or 'How soon can you start'..I find it odd that he was asking me to be the one to call him. But the Doctor said 'We will call you' now I'm confused if I got the job or at least made a good impression or I didn't got it.. Thoughts anyone?
  5. Geez that test made me question my own personality as a nurse. I love nursing ever since I was a child and I really do have a concern with patient's welfare.
  6. I am super down right now, I am from a foreign country who came to the Land Of Dreams(USA) searching for a job immediately after graduation. I passed NCLEX last month answering 75 questions, now I am on a Job Hunt and getting declined one after another, everyone is asking for job experience, I dont know what to do anymore.....losing my life destination.
  7. did anyone take the pep and got '[color=#7d7d3c]candidates must receive a passing score in order to continue in the selection process. at this time, you will not move forward in the selection process for positions that have patient contact. you will be eligible to re-take this assessment in 6 months.'[color=#7d7d3c] is this a fail?
  8. lol this happened to me too, I sent the wrong cover letter...oh well, life as new grad..
  9. Thanks guys! I took Nclex today and it shut off at 75 I'm only sure of 10 answers. I did the PVT and got a good pop up! Assuming that I pass, I'll go job hunting next week, I'm hoping to get into a Hospital Downtown Chicago!
  10. So here's the thing, I came to the US from the Philippines without any working experience as a Nurse (fresh graduate). I'm taking NCLEX in a few weeks and assuming that I pass, will I get a job without any experience? I was referred by one Physician for a job offering in the Oncology Dept., I'm scared to call back because I have no experience in that particular field. Do all new nurses get training when they get hired? Thoughts anyone?
  11. You don't need the CT-NUR and ED-Nur if your CES has your TOR and proof of licensure, just submit the ff to CTS: 4page application(or online), finger print receipt, and payment.
  12. Hi Michelle, can you give me some feedbacks with NCSBN? I'm considering taking it but I wanna know some con's and pro's. Thanks :)
  13. Hi Guys! I'm taking Dr.Martin Review right now in Chicago, she's a Filipina who's been teaching for 30+ years. She's really awesome, but kinda strict (typical Filipina teacher) seriously :s The review is going well however, I can't assess myself if I'm ready to take the exam since her review is 'Content focus'. Now I'm planning to take Kaplan or NCSBN after Martin, can you recommend me which one is better? Btw I graduated last 2011 PH thanks!
  14. Hi jr859a, did you get your ATT yet? My CTS status says Approved, but I don't know what to do next. Should I wait for an approval letter before registering for Pearson Vue? Or Do I have to register first before getting a letter? Hope anyone could answer!
  15. Good day, I got my CES and I registered for CTS the only thing lacking is my fingerprinting card because I am so confused on what to do. 1. Do I get the fingerprinting done in a police department or a livescreen vendor? And after which will they keep the card or do I send it to FBI or CTS? 2. What will I send to CTS? is it FP-NUR, receipt and FP Card? 3. Do I need to do background check as well? is that in the same process with fingerprinting? Please help me, Im in the last hurdle of my application!!
