I know why I want to be nurse to help people. my mum drinks and have witnessed some awful things through that and have not been able to do anything. basically I have to write a apersonal statement about why I want to be a nurse and how I would be good at it. but putting it down with pen and paper is definately where I become stuck. I want it to send professional but at the same time genuine. thank you very much

Hi and welcome...what about being straight forward as in:
I would like to be a nurse in order to help others. Due to a personal experience, I am able to handle stress and still retain my composure and compassion...etc.
thank you, I do know what to write its just applying it to make sense and be different and unique to the other hundreds of thousands of personal statements that universities will receive. I want mine to stand out and not just be "another one" they have to read. Thank you again, kind regards, Candice
