hi. i was hoping someone could offer some advise. i am presently taking a leadership course in which we are working on a group project to develop a "new" facility. we have chosen a med-surg unit in an existing hospital. we have developed this including philosophy, mission, values, description, floor plan, interview process, performance evals, and now we need to do a budget. i would like to know if any of you have any idea how much would be needed for a year of hospital equipment repair and maintenance for our 30 bed unit. thanks and i appreciate your input.

Hi,
I just spent 2 minutes on Google and found these two sources. Google it! or go to more literary sources such as MedsPub or Cinahl.
Good luck on your assignment.

- Cost-Effectiveness Index Modeling for a Hospital Unit

Summary:The healthcare expenditures around the world are claiming bigger and bigger share of a country GDP each year. However, the effectiveness of the healthcare system compared to the ever-rising healthcare expenditures is not clearly defined and compared. A generic model of cost-effectiveness index is developed for a hospital unit (department). The cost-effectiveness index (CEI) consists of the total operating costs (TOC) and total effect index (TEI). TEI consists of healthcare productivity index (HcPI), health status index (HSI), healthcare quality index (HcQI) and healthcare efficiency index (HcEI). All of the effect measures are in different dimensions, thus index number method was applied to convert the effect measures into non-dimensional numbers that can be summed or subtracted. The CEIs obtained are relative among a few different hospitals. The CEIs can be a performance assessment tool to compare the operation of different hospital, and subsequently act as a motivation tool to drive for improvement

Why not contact TARPA?
Thanks to you both for your help. I actually did Google, but didn't find costs only services, but I will go to the literary sources.
Sorry for my ignorance, but I don't know what TARPA is other than a place in Hungary. Thanks for the input.

For my leadership class project, which required something similar, we had previous years' projects to look at for estimated costs of supplies and equipment. We were also encouraged to contact nurse managers or hospitals for accurate estimates.
