Licensing is coming to our prison area an is around the corner....... I hate taking test or being quized.... the info sometimes just slips from my head. I was hoping to some way prep:confused:. Just need some one else who has had them at there prison lately.
I Work in a Crisis specialty area as a nurse in the prison. Has anyone recently have any experienced with there questions they ask. I understand they may want to know what the fire drill may be...... I also know where the policy & procedure books are in our unit. Also never ever say you don't know............ Little advice would help..... only been a prison nurse for less than 2yrs. I just want to do my best and present our unit well:yeah:.
Thanks to those who write..:typing.....

Hi Ssalicia, you are right they can ask you any kind of questions but I think if you remain calm when/if you are approached that means alot to the accreditation team. Remember their facilities undergo the same inspections.
I would paper clip or mark the policies that you frequently use and a few that are rarely used so that if you don't know the answer say so and reach for the P&P book. For example I know the TB policy by heart but on occasion need to look up the hunger strike policy.
Have your work area neat and all meds. on count be accounted for on a sign out sheet. Have log books current. Make sure all inmate charts are properly completed.
Don't be so hard on yourself. Just do the best you can and hope your nurse admin. steps in and fill the team in on how your medical dept. runs. You will be fine. Just breathe :nuke:
