HELP!!!! Should I take NCLEX yet? Kaplan scores

Published

Hello everyone,

Thank you for taking the time to read this. I just finished up Kaplan on demand and am scheduled to take NCLEX Thursday (Feb. 13th) I am freaking out because I feel so defeated. Here are my Kaplan scores.

Diagnostic-65

Readiness-taken yesterday-62.3

QT1- 59

QT2-51

QT3-49

QT4-52

QT5-54

QT6-61

QT7-Taken today-60.2

Test bank is embarrassing 56% with 72% completed... UGH

SO for anybody that knows about Kaplan, should I take my NCLEX Thursday? Or reschedule it while I can?

Input of any kind is greatly appreciated!

You're doing fine. My scores were around the same and I passed.

Don't get too hung up on scores - focus more on reviewing what you got wrong and why.

But you're the only one that can answer whether or not you should take it. I don't think anyone ever truly feels ready, but if you feel like you're REALLY struggling, then possibly consider rescheduling.

Deep breath - you got this. :) Good luck!

My scores are similar with yours and I am sticking to my plan on taking it this Friday. Reason being is that I feel that I should not let these bad scores decide for me. I know my content (remember you will not know everything) enough and as long as you know your content you will be fine. Be confident, positive and keep praying. That's what's keeping me motivated to take it in 2 days. YOU are the only one who knows yourself well, if you feel like you can, then DO IT! No one was and will ever be prepared for the NCLEX beast! Just gotta do it! Wish you good luck! So does to me as well!

Update! Computer shut off at 75!!! With good pop up!!!! Fingers crossed! Thank you all for the support!!!

Alright alright alright!!

Congratulations!! My test is tomorrow and my anxiety is sooo bad right now! Please wish me luck!

CONGRATS!!

Congratulations!! My test is tomorrow and my anxiety is sooo bad right now! Please wish me luck!

Just take a deep breath between each question and say to your self, "I know this stuff so I need to just relax and answer them"

I threw up before my test, I too have horrible anxiety in general, especially test anxiety. But I was able to use relaxation breathing through the exam, and I swear it helped so much!

You will do fine, focus on safety and priority.

Hurst has great tips:

Here's a summary of there tips

You are a brand new nurse with 2weeks of nursing knowledge, the "nclex" lady knows you do not know everything, so as long as you are not a "killer nurse" you will do great!!!

Do not pick an answer that delays care

Stay away from restraints as long as possible, remember nclex world is a "perfect world"

"I promise I will be happy if you get more right then wrong.... We are not trying to get a 100%

Kaplan says:

With priority questions you can Only do one thing and then go home! So pick the answer that will most likely stabilize the pt!

Good luck, and let us know how you do!!!

Thanks for these words of encouragement! This was the reason i didn't reschedule!

You will do great!!!!!

I thank you vil2290! I am testing in less than 12 hours! I've been trying different relaxation techniques that worked for me in the past! Staying positive and keeping all the encouragement I got from here! No one knows I'm taking my NCLEX except here and my bf! So hopefully, I will have a great news after my test!

Pray for me everyone!!

I will keep you all posted!
