Hopeful RN

I'm a new RN and would love tips on searching for outpatient care positions. I learned early on that I didn't like bedside nursing for different reasons. It's so easy to find job posting for residencies and acute care jobs, but I'm having a hard time finding outpatient care job posts. Are there any sites or recruiters I should look into? Also, is it difficult for new nurses to land a job in outpatient care without experience? I'm new at this and pretty overwhelmed. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

You may not be finding them because they don't exist. Many acute care nurses who were in the thick of Covid have burned out, either leaving nursing or leaving acute care. Many are/were seeking the exact type of job you're seeking, and it wouldn't be uncommon for those positions to prefer experienced nurses over new grads. You can always search job listings on organizations that have both acute care and ambulatory sites.
I would also recommend taking some time to sit down and determine just why it is you feel acute care is not for you. Was it that particular unit? That particular specialty? Could you tough it out for a year or two to gain some experience and make yourself a more attractive applicant?

Try looking for jobs at a FQHC (Federally qualified Health Center). I work at one, and we are constantly hiring nurses, even new grads. The pay for outpatient clinics isn't great compared to acute care, but the hours are nice, especially if you have a family or want daytime hours. Also, some dialysis centers hire new nurses.

These are good points! I will definitely ponder these questions and hopefully figure things out.
Thank you Rose_Queen & Squidpdx for the excellent feedback! ?
