So I'm in a complete rut right now.. I received a D in anatomy the first time, repeated it and got a C the second time. Since SDSU only allows you to repeat a course if you have a C-, I requested a C-. Here's the bad part; I've looked into a lot of nursing school programs in CA and most won't accept anything lower than a C AND won't accept the new grade if you've repeated it once before.
I was planning on repeating anatomy for the third time to get a better grade.. but it seems like all efforts will be wasted considering school's won't accept the grade if you repeated it more than once. I wanted to become an RN. I'm beginning to think that asking for a C- in order to repeat the course was completely idiotic. What should I do? I'm beginning to lose hope in getting into nursing schools

With most schools a C is a C. It doesn't really matter if it is a plus or a minus. If you have to eat the C I wouldn't worry to much about it, just try to ace your other classes. I also would not waste your time or money repeating it. Chalk it up to a lesson learned.

Just apply to the schools and see what happens, and meanwhile repeat the class. No sense in getting depressed over it. Get mad and get an A or at least a respectable B.

Ask yourself why you're having trouble succeeding in A&P. You took the class once and received a D. The second time really should have come much easier, and the fact you were only to bring your grade up one letter is going to affect your chances on an academic based admission process.
Are you struggling with the subject matter or do you need to improve your study skills? There are few second chances in nursing school and likely ZERO third chances. When you're taking these classes, you shouldn't consider repeating even an option. You can't change the past, but in the future, don't allow the 'I can always retake it' to even enter your mind. It's going to hurt you in the end. Hone your study skills, you're going to need them later.
If you have trouble getting into RN school, going for LVN and bridging over may be a good option for you. Good luck.
