you need to meet requirement on the ca website for endorsement, that is if you have a hard license, if not the procedure is slightly different. You are aware that CA will not issue license until you provide then with a SSN

There are already multiple threads on this topic, you just need to use the search engine that we have here. Please be aware that CA will not issue you a permanent license without a SSN#, and the temporary license is only valid for 180 days and cannot be renewed without the SSN#. You may wish to wait before endorsing due to the retrogression that is in place.

thanks silverdragon and suzanne...but i am still confused on what the retrogession is and on what to do with my endorsement? and also regarding the SS#?...please enlighten me on this issue...thank you...

There is much written on retrogression and SSN, but basically no visas currently for nurses and visa applications for 2002 are what is being processed at the moment and SSN you will not receive until you are in the US with a valid wok permit. There is no rush at the moment to endorse and can easily be done once you are in the US

I suggest you have a good read in this forum and you can also try using the seach facility using key words like retrogression which will bring up al the threads reagrding that subject

SSN# is given out by the Social Security Administration when you are in the US and ready to begin work, meaning a visa that will permit you to work.

CA will not issue a permanent license without the SSN#.

If you have not started the immigration process, you are looking at a several year wait before you have a chance to get a green card to work in the US, there are no visas now and there are more applicants from your country than there are visas available.

As already mentioned by Anna, there are many threads that can answer specifically what you need to know, just use the search engine that we have here.
