Help!!! Racking my brain trying to decide on a topic for 2nd interview!!!

Published

I have a 2nd interview for a teaching position. This will be my first :) I was asked to do a "teach back", I choose the topic and present it to approximately 4 people. It is to be a powerpoint presentation that is 15-20 minutes in length. My area of expertise is ICU and Flight Nursing. Was thinking of doing a quick "What is flight nursing? And the role Flight Nurses play in the "Golden Hour." How deep into the topic should I go? Or should I just skim the surface and make sure that the audience walks away some gained knowledge of flight nursing? I am so nervous I almost can't think straight. My interview was yesterday afternoon and I have to present Monday morning, so not a ton of time but definitely enough. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.:D

Ok, So this is how I see it : if you passed first part of it then your one leg is inside and other outside of the fence.. :)) so you need to bring it in. For the PPT they practically wants to see how you can present material and make them engaged in it. Do follow rules of PPT - no wistles, no distraction, professional organized presentation with max of 10- 12 slides. Put in the begining your name , credentials etc. Start with objectives and goals for the session and then present the material. On the end have you APA style so that they can see where you took information ( not only from your head) .

I hope this helps a little bit . Good luck to you ( or maybe you already had the interview)

I know I'd love to learn more about Flight Nursing! Since you only have 15-20 minutes, you can't go into much depth. Maybe give the basics and tell some stories of how flight nursing made a difference (you in particular), or something about the pressures in it and how you handled it. I'm thinking Powerpoint = the basics and your stories are the decoration...

Don't just read your Powerpoint pages to them...whatever you do, don't do that!
