Help- Question re CNA requirement

I'm hoping someone can help me. I recently went on the waiting list for nursing at my CC. Surprisingly I was called today and told I was selected to start the program in January as my pre req's were complete. I meet with the director on Monday and was told to bring a copy of my CNA certification. I believe I totally goofed. I took the CNA course which is what I thought was the requirement. My understanding of the certification exam was if we wished to become CNA's and not necessary for the nursing school. I neglected to take the exam as I was already employed and put it on the backburner. When the director said "certification" I panicked.

I have proof of taking and passing the course. Is it inevitable that I will miss my spot in the program because I failed to take the test ?. The anxiety and regret I have right now is overwhelming. i can't believe I made such a mistake. Am I the only one to have made this blunder? I will find out I suppose Monday AM but wondering if anyone can confirm or put my fears at ease. Either way, its better than waiting until Monday. Thanks for any replies.

You're not a CNA until you take the state test. Doesn't matter if you passed the school's tests, you must pass a state test.

Good luck on Monday!

Hopefully as long as you took the course and passed you will be ok. I think they want to make sure that you have learned the basics before starting. We were told also that we did not need the certification, only the course.
