Help with project/Misconceptions/Stereotypes about nursing

Hey all, I have a project to do for my pre-nursing class. I'm going to incorporate the attitude of society towards nursing. I'd love to get some feedback from you guys.

Have any of you come across people in your daily life that just had it all wrong about what nurses do or what it takes to become a nurse? What were some of the comments made or the attitudes that people had? For the male nurses or pre-nursing male students, did you receive any objection when people found out you were going to be a nurse?

Please feel free to add anything you think might be relevant.

TIA
