I did an interview last week at a place that is 7hrs away from were i live and they told me i got the job and should be expecting the acceptance letter this week. The only problem is that it is far away and my fiancee and i will be paying 2 separate bills if i move there which is kind of a problem for us. The manager was asking me if i applied in jobs in other places and i told her yes, 2 other places and that they needed experience which i don't have( new grad.)
Another place called me today, and scheduled an interview (phone interview) for tomorrow. The place is an an hour and a half from were my fiancee lives ( so i could commute) but the problem is i don't even know if i will get the job, how long the interview process will take and that it starts in June (long time away and the new grad program might be canceled becos of the economy). i don't want to get my hopes too high abt the job but at the same time, i don't want to miss out on another opportunity that will save us some money ( we both have sch loans to pay).
I am so confused. How long can i wait before i accept or reject the job offer? Do i tell the people interviewing me i have another job offer, so they should speed up the process? I really don't know?
Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Perhaps the acceptance letter will give you a "reply by" date? That would make your decision easier, of course. And, perhaps the phone interview tomorrow will shed some light on what they are looking for and when they hope to fill the position.
If it were me, I would not tell the phone interview that you had another job offer, especially if you are trying to "speed up the process". It might come across as demanding. Unfortunately, new grads are having to bite the bullet more and more and take less than desirable positions. We really aren't in much of a bargaining position (depending on the area of the country, of course!).
It is not feasible for your fiance to move with you? Could he find a new job?

At my nursing school we just had a nursing panel with a bunch of nurse managers in the area, and this situation was brought up. Most of the managers said that if they had not gotten a reply within a week then they would take the offer off the table. But I am sure if you called them and asked for a day or two to make the decision they would be more than happy to give you that time.
I also would not tell the phone interview you have another job offer but I am sure you could ask them the time table.
Good luck with everything!
