HELP! PlEASE! Drug Test False Positive

Published

I have a question and I read someone else had this same question awhile back. I'm having to take my drug test which I take Effexor / Venlafaxine at a high dose. I've been reading all over the internet how this shows up in a drug test as PCP!!! Can anyone help me out here? Either do you take this drug and what did it turn up as in your drug test? Or should I bring documentation about this showing up as PCP to my drug test.....or help me out on this situation. ...... please........Don't want PCP showing up on my drug test at all!

A little off topic here, but I'm gonna ask anyways, because I'm curious.

When they do these as a pre employment thing, as opposed to a random drug test, is the process the same?

Do any employers ever decide not to bring someone on because of the medications they take?

We do not disclose any medications to employers, only if is is positive or negative. Even then, every positive is carefully re-tested and the MRO contacts you before informing your employer to see if there is a reason behind this. You just bring your meds to the MRO or take pictures of the bottles. This is how it works at MY company.
