Is there a recommended web site/ recruiter etc.? and who can help out with the contract? I know absolutely nothing about the work scene since I am originally not from USA.
Any Advice?

Check out the International Forum, this will be much more beneficial for you.
Do you already have an American license? What type of Visa do you have?
Where do you wish to work? Do you have experience in your home country?

I am still not certified in USA and have little experiance so far. by the time I pass the NCLEX and recieve my visa this will probably change. I will check the international foum as you have suggested and hopefully will lern more about the nurse's work arena in the stated. thanks again
Are you currently in the US? Have you taken the English exams yet?
Where did you attend nursing school and what type of program?
I wouldn't be worried about finding a position until you are well under your way with completing all of your exams. Most facilities and agencies will not offer anything, other than advice, until you are further ahead with everything.
And unfortunately, there is no way to speed things up.

already registered to take both CGFNS and NCLEX. I have completed my education in Israel and had my 4 months internship at the PICU. I am also working at a mother-baby health center and just love it!
Since I have a family who depends on me I am trying to minimize the uncertainties and to plan things the best way I can so as to save time and be able to move before my 5 year old goes to school in a year time. I am also trying to get as much info as possible in order to make a decision about the preffered location. So far I'm looking mainly into California (bay area). I read about the hardships of new commers to the nursing world and I can only imagine it will be as twice as difficult for me as a new immigrant... Hope it will all turn well...
You will be unable to be in CA in one year, on average it is about two years for a green card for there, and that is after the petition process begins. You do not need the CGFNS exam, and if you will follow what is posted for NY you will be done with everything much quicker. Have you written your English exams yet?
Which part of Israel are you from? I have quite a bit of family living there.
There are several nurses that post here occasionally from there as well, Netanya and Haifa.
Who do you have your ATT from if you are set for NCLEX-RN?
Hi Suzanne,
I actually live very close to Natanya and it is a beautiful city by the sea. Have you ever been in Israel? where are you from? what field of nursing are you involved with?
As for your questions, I passes the English exams and registeres to both NCLEX (California) and CGFNS in order to keep all options open. I also think the Ca NCLEX caneasily be endorsed to any other state. As I understand from other's experiance ATT from CA board of registered nursing takes about 4 months in comparance to a year in NY. I hope if I pass it won'ttake more than 6-8 months to find a job and have my green card arranged. I pray this will be the case...
