Can someone plz help me out here? I have a pt. with ovarian ca and significant ascites. I can't seem to find any info on pigtail catheters in my nursing text pertaining to ovarian ca. I have another pt with a tenkhoff catheter that I drain BID, so is this pigtail essentially used for the same purpose, to drain excess fluid from the peritoneum??

Thanks Daytonite! :)
That's basically the same that I came up with on my google search. The cancerweb site I found particularly useful and informative.
Thanks again. :)
