Hi everyone and thanks for your responses. I'm currently a new nursing student. I became a nursing student very excited and with lots of hope. I knew it was going to be hard but I became discouraged just as soon as school began. I have 4 classes and 3 are online. I have phatophysiology and pharmacology online. We had orientation and everyone asked why we had pharmacology online and it was because the instructor quit and that there was nothing that could be done. Then I found out that only about 25 students got phatophysiology online because there was not enough room for the actual instructor class. We got stuck for registering last. I find this very unfair because the material is hard and online I'm completely lost. I try to join the campus class but was told there was no room. I feel like if they had no room they shouldn't have taken so many students. I also feel at a disatvantage try to learn all this pretty much on my own. I'm really upset and having a hard time with the material. I been thinking of speaking to the Dean and asking for my money back and aplying to a nursing school with actual instructors. What are your thoughts on this????? Please help.

Sorry to hear about the problems you are having. I doubt that they will give your money back. Have you tried to find out if you can drop the class and take it next term when you can get into a classroom environment? I would go to the dean and explain that it is not working for you and ask for this option. Good luck.

I know online classes are different than the traditional class setting, I have taken multiple myself, but not on the ones that you have mentioned. Something you need to remember is that even though the class is online, you as a student should still have rights at the college. Such as, your teacher needs to be available to you at certain times through the week. Even if it was last minute, someone must be teaching the class. If you go in during their office hours, they may be able to go over the material with you so that it makes more sense.
Another option is a tutor. At the colleges I have been to, a tutor from the student center is a student that took the class and got at least a B and it costs nothing for me to get one. You may want to look into that option, as they may be able to go through the material with you and explain it. If all else fails, you could drop the class, as mentioned before, and tken it next semester. And no matter how this turns out, I would express your concern to someone higher up either in the nursing department or call the colleges and ask who you would make complaints to about this situation.
Good luck - I hope everything works out for you!
Thanks. There are tutor and the instructor are great. The only sad part is that my pharm instructor is in San Antonio but she tries to help as much as she can. I'm just taking one day at a time and getting all the help that I need. I guess I just needed to vent, specially since I wasn't expecting such difficult classes on line. Thanks for the feedback.
