PLEASE HELP ME
I have a bachelors in biology(2006, NO JOB) and i am looking for nursing schools in Texas to apply to. I tried applying for the summer (2008) programs at UTEP and Midwestern State. BUT Midwestern State said i was #10 on their waiting list. I was rejected at UTEP because i dont have A&P and Pyschology courses.
i am registered to take A&P I&II at the local community college this summer.
I need help in finding admissions to schools for FALL 2008/SPRING 2009.
PLEASE I NEED ADVICE. I AM OPEN TO ANY SUGGESTION. I AM GETTING FRUSTRATED here.
PLEASE GIVE ME SITES/LINKS FOR THESE SCHOOLS. IT DONT MATTER WHAT PART OF TEXAS.
please help me.

Not sure what to tell you... The schools in the DFW area (TCC/DCCCD) both need A&P I and Intro to Psych...the rest should have been covered during your other degree.

Hi SlimNurse!
Are you seeking for an accelerated or generic BSN program? I can't say much for an accelerated program, but why not try doing a rapid review admission process to these following schools: http://www.fp.sfasu.edu/taddpnp/vacancies.htm
For my first time applying, I got admitted to Patty Hanks Shelton School of Nursing (PHSSN) through a rapid review admission process while placed on a waiting list to three other schools (without the rapid review admission process):
Texas A&M University - Corpus Christi (TAMUCC)
Tarleton State University (TSU)
Texas Tech University Health Science Center (TTUHSC)
The schools I got admitted and waitlisted are for Fall 2008 generic program.
You could also read about my experiences with these schools I applied to right here: https://allnurses.com/forums/f175/texas-bsn-fall-2008-a-287629.html
For UTEP, did you attend the information group session thingy during mid-March? I didn't. I later learned that I got rejected at that same school. Obviously, my scores weren't up to par with the rest of the pool of applicants, but could it be that not attending the session also played a factor?
Hope this helps!

you are too late for fall 08 admissions so shoot for spring09. depending on the school you are interested in, you may be cutting it close even for the spring! check out www.allnursingschools.com/find/texas/nursing-schools.php for a list of tx schools. you may just need to apply to as many as you can afford to (application fees are freaking expensive!)
good luck!
You can also learn more about these nursing schools here:

Thank you guys so much, i will check all these schools out, and be sure to give you guys feedback. Please keep me in your process. And give me any advice that you have.
For Texas Tech, one of its requirement states that i have to be certified as a Nurse Assistant. It is really neccesary? has anyone even been admitted to the program without been a certified nurse assistant?
Which program are you talking about? The regular BSN doesn't require it. At least it says so right here: http://www.ttuhsc.edu/son/undergrad/bsn.aspx
thanks. i went to a totally different page.
I guess i'll wait to apply in december because it states that "The online application is available starting December 15, 2007 and closes on February 1, 2008 for Summer II 2008 admission"
Is it worth it to pay all these application fees for all the schools?
How many schools do i apply to?

Don't let the application fees discourage you! Apply as many schools you think you can get into!
Guys, I filled out an online application for utmb yesterday for the fast track 2009 program and this morning I received a call from the school, because I made a mistake by applying to a non degree program. I was really nervous. I sturttered a lot (it was my first call from a school).
I think the lady is gonna throw away my application as soon as she hung up..Please pray 4 me.

Don't be nervous. More than likely the lady you talked to was probably from enrollment services department not the school of nursing and she will have no bearing on the admissions decision. They are just trying to make sure you have the correct paperwork. Don't give up! Good luck. :)
