Hello. I am an undergrad who will soon graduate with a bachelor's in chemistry. I will graduate with a 2.8, which is low. I am looking into accelerated BSN and AS nursing programs because I decided to pursue nursing as a career last summer and it was already to late for me to switch to a nursing major. Most accelerated BSN programs require at least a 3.0, which I do not have. Should I retake the courses I did not so great in at a CC? Will this boost my gpa? Or should I go back to CC and get an associates in nursing and then get a bachelor's in nursing? How long will that take? Do admissions officers look at the grade for the retaken course if I did better in it? I appreciate anyone's advice.

talk to an advisor at the nursing school. No sense wasting time and money till you know what they really want.

First I would look at the program. For example my ADN program didn't consider my whole GPA, only my pre-reqs for nursing were the only grades they looked at.
If you can get in the BSN program go for it. If you can get an ADN go for it.
I got my ADN which took 16 months and am now going for my BSN which is another year. The good thing is I can work as a nurse and actually pay my BSN without any problems and now I actually know what they are talking about. It was the way to go for me. =D
