Help needed with medication problem. Thanks

Someone Pls help me with these problems, I do have an idea of how to go about them but I am confused. (N.B is flow rate always in ml/hr? what's the diff btn flow rate and drip rate) Thanks

1. Mr. Lee is to receive IV Heparin. The physician ordered 20,000 units of heparin in 500 ml of D5W to be infused at the rate of 1000 unite/hr. Calculate the flow rate in ml/hr.

2. Little Jose weighs 66 lb. Epinephrine 0.01 mg/kg IV q 5 min is ordered to treat his sinus bradycardia. Calculate the number of mg of epinephrine per dose.

3. Nipride has been ordered to titrate at 3 - 6 mcg/kg/min. The solution strength is 50 mg in 250 ml. Calculate the flow rate (ml/hr) for the upper range if the patient weighs 72.4 kg.

1. mr. lee is to receive iv heparin. the physician ordered 20,000 units of heparin in 500 ml of d5w to be infused at the rate of 1000 unite/hr. calculate the flow rate in ml/hr.

dose desired:
1,000 units/hour

dose on hand:
20,000 units/500 ml

1,000 units/1 hour
(dose desired)
x 500 ml/20,000 units
(dose on hand)
=
25 ml/hour
(dose to give, flow rate)

2. little jose weighs 66 lb. epinephrine 0.01 mg/kg iv q 5 min is ordered to treat his sinus bradycardia. calculate the number of mg of epinephrine per dose.

dose desired:
0.01 mg/kg

patient's weight:
66 pounds

conversion factor:
2.2 pounds = 1 kg

0.01 mg/1 kg
(dose desired)
x 66 pounds/1
(patients weight)
x 1 kg/2.2 pounds
(conversion factor)
=
0.3 mg
(dose to give)

dose desired:
6 mcg/kg/minute, upper range

dose on hand:
50 mg/250 ml

patient weight:
72.4 kg

conversion factor:
1 hour = 60 minutes

conversion factor:
1,000 mcg = 1 mg

6 mcg/1 kg
(dose desired)
x 1/1 minute
(part of dose desired ratio)
x 72.4 mg/1
(patient's weight)
x 1 mg/1000 mcg
(conversion factor)
x 250 ml/50 mg
(dose on hand)
x 60 minutes/1 hour
(conversion factor)
= 130.32 ml/hour
, rounded off to
130 ml/hour
(amount to give, upper range)
