Help! Need ethical futility visuals for nursing ethics project!

Published

Hi everyone!

I'm working on a group presentation regarding medical futility and its nursing implications. My group of 3 students have 30-45 minutes to present this topic from a variety of sources and create a handout for our class of ~ 30 pre-licensure nursing students pursuing our BSNs. If you have any resources regarding the cases below, please share. Also, I'm looking for visual aids and was wondering if there's any clips from TV shows, movies, etc. that could help as well. Thank you for your help!

Futility cases

Clips from these shows (if you could help me narrow down the episodes, that'd be great!)

  • Nurse Jackie
  • Mercy
  • HawthoRNe
  • NY Med/Boston Med
  • The American Nurse book/documentary

Suggest you use nonfiction for all your clips, not fictional portrayals of nursing.

You can also find stills at any stock photo services, such as Shutterstock or others, for cheap.

Hi @GrnTea,

Thanks for the reply. I DO want to use nonfiction clips, but was also trying to see if there were any other shows that presented an ethical futility, which could be used to start discussion, not as an example to how to handle in real life.
