Hello All,
First and Foremost, this website is very informative so i had to sign up. I have the saunders lippincott and lacharity book. I also have the 38 page study guide that i found on this website. I took Kaplan in May because it was included into the tuition at my school. I took the first three question trainers and my scores are not great at all. Instead of the scores increasing its decreasing! I stopped with the question trainers and started to do Qbank questions i only did the psycosocial portion which i didnt do too bad. The issue is i just feel like im all over the place. I have all these resources and still dont know what to do. Im not sure If i should start all over again and read the Kaplan content book first and then when im done do questions? Im reading all these success stories and I would like to be apart of that but how can I? when i feel like i dont know what im doing and its not helping me focus at all I feel more confused as the days go by. If someone can help me it would be great.

First, I didn't read any book. I felt there's too much information to retain by reading a book. I did 100 Kaplan qbank questions a day until I finished all of those... Then I did the practice tests on Kaplan. A score of 60% is what they recommend. Then I did Hurst when I completed the Qbank and refreshed myself on some of the basics. Then I did their quizzes. I also wrote down the most important labs and those were the only thing I committed to memory. I didn't study meds a whole lot only because there are thousands of meds they can test you on. So the only thing I did for meds was study the endings and what classes those meds with specific endings are (I.e. lols are beta blockers, prils are ACE inhibitors, pams are benzos and so on). Don't use too many resources or you'll get confused. Keep it simple. Use maybe 2 resources tops. Hope that helps.
Thank you! I just want to be on the right track with everything and I feel like im not. I wanted to take my nclex first week of july when i graduated in May. Unfortunately, my school didnt send out the application for the nclex until two weeks ago and i slacked very hard up until I sent out my application. I did questions here and there but i wasnt focused when i sent out my application I told myself i really need to get down to business and study hard but I just felt all over the place.
Wow! That's pretty late to send out your ATT. I took mine a couple years ago and my school sent out our ATT the day we graduated.
