Check with the HI Board of Nursing to find out if they have reciprocity with other states (compact?), and how one would obtain a license to practice there if they already have a license somewhere else.

Are you planning on working in Mississippi at all after you graduate? If not, then just apply for licensure through the state of Hawaii.
I'm in a similar situation. I go to school in TX but after graduation I'm moving back to AZ and plan to work there. I contacted the AZ BON and they sent me the application for licensure through the state of AZ. Therefore I'll have my AZ license, since I'm not planning on working in TX after graduation. If I were you I'd look into doing the same thing, it would be easier (and cheaper) to apply for licensure in the state you want to work in to start with, than to get licensure in Mississippi to start with and then apply for licensure in Hawaii.
