HELLO :)
Im going straight to the point. I am really disappointed of my result
I failed my first nclex pn so i studied for a month and half and only focus on the HURST review but never thought of doing a lot of practice questions. so i recently took the nclex like two weeks ago and i FAILED again. this time its even worst because it stops me at 85. i thought im doing good because the questions seemed easy, but i was like this is a bit easy to be true. and YES I FAILED for the second time.
now im really nervous, im taking my 3rd time this coming May.
can someone know what the best to do or materials to study please.

I used both saunders and kaplan. I felt that kaplan was alot similar to the nclex. It really helped me. Do as many questions as you can and study the rationales as well. Know your priorities and ABCs. Go in with confidence and dont rush it. Good luck!

I did Hurst. I felt it helped a lot with the content. Although I used Kaplan as well to apply critical thinking. I actually posted a thread on what I did to pass NCLEX if you want to read.
ANYWAY...to be honest, I thought the NCLEX was too easy and thought it was too good to be to true that I thought I was failing. I had to take a break and recollect myself because again, I thought I was failing. Still did even when the screen went blue with 75 questions. Even though I thought I did, my heart was telling me PASS! & with God's help...I passed and so can YOU!
When people say to do thousands of questions, it is not necessary unless they are all higher-level thinking questions...although I did over 5000+ questions before taking the NCLEX. But doing Kaplan questions alone could just be fine. My friend did Hurst and Kaplan only and she passed with 75 questions too. I ended with doing Kaplan Qtrainers and Qbanks which are more critical thinking questions a few days before my NCLEX exam to keep up with the momentum of thinking critically and honestly, Kaplan questions made NCLEX look way too easy.
I wish you all the luck. Remember, have faith in yourself and positivity! You ARE a registered nurse!
thankyou so much it did help me, Hurst helped me understand most of the organs and stuff, maybe i should do a lot of questions to see how the questions like. I been thinking of trying to do the kaplan qbanks, hope it helps me, thankyou so much
Again, Kaplan made NCLEX look easy. If you aren't comfortable doing questions...you will be by the time Kaplan is over. If anything, just get a question book. Get that momentum going! Investing in a strategy book is beneficial too!
Thankyou so much, i would look into that :)
one more question, for pharmacology, i know people learn differently, would you mind if i ask you how did you study pharmacology?
You will never know everything about pharmacology. Sometimes the answers itself is in there without even knowing the medication. But as long as you get the basics, you are golden. I would honestly memorizes the suffixes/prefixes and learn the main side effects of those medications and adverse effects. I did have this Mosby's Pharmacology booklet thing from amazon and loved the little pictures to remember things.
