help.. LPN. or MA ?? Any suggestions?

Published

:) Please help! I just withdrew from the RN program because the stress level was too much for me. I still want to be in the medical field. I live in FL, and want to know which is better LPN or MA??? Or what else there after realizing that your not meant to be an RN???

I hear that LPN is being phased out, or that the new lpn's are ma's so they can pay you less money.. Iam so confused, I like a loser for not hanging on to the gold standard"""RN""" , but there are so many choices in the health field that I feel bombarded.

Anyone have any suggestions?? :imbar :imbar :uhoh21: :uhoh21: :uhoh21: :uhoh21:

I would go for the Lpn if i were you. It's easier to find work and you'll make more money. I spoke to the instructor in charge of the MA program at ccc, she said a hospital in the area is replacing it's lpn's with ma's and paying 12 an hour. if you're ok with that after medical assisting school, go for it. I also briefly bartended with an MA who graduated top of her class and makes 9 an hour. I know it's not all about money, but please take that into consideration.

well if rn was too tough for you i would say do ma. because lvn is almost the same thing. there still trying to shove as much info into you in a year as possible.. and classes are similar.. just a little less into certain things. so if you realized you weren't meant to be a rn, id check into other areas in medical or ma

I feel like LPN is way better. Here in PA LPN's make more money its the same amount of training as an MA. MA's make what CNA's make here. So to me that seems like a waste of money to pay for school when you could make that for free. Also I know quite a few MA's out here that cannot get a job as an MA so they work as a CNA anyway.

Well most places(if not all) the 1st year of the RN school is the same as the LPN program. I personally would not go for MA but that is just me. What was stressful about the program too you?
