Hello my friends,

I am reaching out to you because I have been sitting in front of my computer, typing away and backspacing for about 2 hours :/

I am attempting to write an amazing cover letter, that shows how bad I want to be a school nurse.

I have working in the Emergency Room for about 6 years. (Only worked ER as a RN)

But am working on my BSN and want them to know I am willing to take the school nurse certification courses also.

Can someone PLEASE write some sample Cover letters of how you would approach this if you were me? (a ER nurse who desperately wants to become a school nurse)

How is the letter coming? You may want to attempt a draft and post it. That way people can give you feedback. I think you will get more help that way. This board is pretty quiet during the summer. Good luck! I'm sure your enthusiasm will show:)

With 6 years ER you shouldn't have to type much!! .....but the big thing that is gonna hurt you is the BSN, sometimes nowadays they just can't get around needing that!

You have more experience than me so sorry I can't help ya! LOL. But good luck!

I agree. It will be much easier to help you if you post a draft. Don't worry about how it looks or sounds. Just get started and than let us help from there. I have written LOTS of cover letters and will be happy to help if I can. Also, be sure your resume is PERFECT!

A word of advice - you probably should change your screen name here. We usually recommend being anonymous here - anybody and everybody reads posts here.

The school nursing forum here is a group of terrific and verrry interesting folk. And I'm LTC but this is probably my favorite forum.
