HELP! just recieved an offer for my ideal job, but allready accepted an offer

When it rains it pours...this time in a good way but I don't know what to do. In April I interviewed for a new grad rn job at a wonderful hospital 5 minutes away from my home. The nurse manager was great and I was really hopeful I would hear back from them pretty quickly. However, that never happened so I went on another interview, this time to a hospital an hour and 10 minutes away. They called me back immediately and although i wasnt thrilled about my prospective 2 hour commute every day, I was thrilled to get a job and am willing to do everything in my power to make it work . Then today I received a job offer from the hospital closer to my home (which is pretty much my ideal job). Would it be wrong to renege my offer and accept the new one???Any suggestions would be wonderful, thank you!

My suggestion to you would be to do what is right for you. Although you may not look great in the eyes of the recruiter that you are turning down, you should take the job that is best for your situation. You don't want to take the job you will hate 6 months/1 year down the road.

If you haven't actually started the job, just accepted the offer, I think it would be okay to turn the first one down and accept the other one. No one can blame you for wanting to work closer to home! I commute 2 hours each workday, and trust me -- you'll want the closer job. :) Congrats on getting a couple of offers!!
