HELP !!! Job/Career Fair

Can someone please help!!!!. Two other nursing students and myself are responsible for the Job/Career Fair at my school, for our leadership project. We are 4th semester students and looking forward to graduation in May. March 31 we are having the annual Job Fair for all the nursing students of my school, and I just wanted some feedback as to what kind of questions should the nursing students ask. We are expecting about 25-30 facility/hospital representatives to attend. I really want this to be an informative Fair for all students, especially for the New Grads. Alot of the students attending, dont know what kind of questions to ask, so I figured I can give them ideas. But, how can I give them ideas, if I dont know myself. :bugeyes:HEHEHEHE!!!!! So, I am asking anyone for help. I just feel that this would make easier for everyone.

here are some of the questions i have in my question bank that a person should ask at their job interview:

  • why would i want to work for your hospital?
  • what are some of the attributes of working for your hospital?

  • when is the best time to for a student or new graduate to submit a resume to your hospital?
  • do you have a special orientation program for new graduate nurses?
  • what is the criteria you use in selecting and hiring new graduates?
  • how many new graduates have quit within 6 months or a year of being hired?
  • what kind of unit would you recommend for a new graduate to work on? are jobs on the critical care units available to new graduates?
  • what kind of support can new graduates expect from the nursing educators and preceptors in your facility?
  • who precepts new graduates? can you tell me something about them? do new graduates always have the same preceptor or will there be more than one?
  • how does the hospital handle new grads that might be slow in becoming oriented to their new jobs?
  • have you ever had a new grad who didn't seem to work out? how was it handled?
  • if for any reason it seems that orientation is just not going well for a new graduate what happens?
  • what kind of professional advancement is available to nurses here?
  • what benefits do you offer to employees?
  • do you have tuition reimbursement if a nurse decides he/she wants to go back to school to pursue a higher degree in nursing?
