Hello all,
New to the site! :) But I'm in a major stand-still in my journey to apply for an accelerated Nursing program as I have many pre-reqs to take. I have my BA in Psychology and I've already completed some of the pre-reqs such as statistics, developmental psychology and intro to psychology. Can anyone recommend a good online pre-nursing program JUST for completing the pre-req courses? I'm working full-time at the moment so I need an online program. PLEASE HELP!

Good day, mandidoodle:
Welcome to the forum.
First find out what prerequisites you need; they vary by school. Then check with the nursing school(s) for which you want to apply to find out what they recommend in terms of any colleges that offer online courses. I know the college I'm attending -- hacc.edu -- offers online classes; and they are accredited. So that might be an option; but best to first check with the nursing schools you want to apply.
Thank you.

In addition to the above, make sure that the programs you're applying to will accept those courses. Some prerequisite courses require an in-person lab, even though the content is delivered online. Big thing to look for when researching the type of science prerequisite is something that says "...with lab" as that will essentially require the in-person lab instead of an online/virtual lab experience. Your prospective nursing programs should have that kind of info. The next thing to check is whether or not the courses you intend to take will transfer, if they're NOT in the same college/university system as the nursing program you intend to attend. If the program won't accept the course, it's pointless to take it.

Yes, you need to see what will transfer to where. Classes like A&P and micro should be taken in person because of the lab component. I am not against taking online courses except for these and most colleges agree and will not accept online A&P and micro. Many cc offer night classes for working adults and I would look into that.

I'm in the same boat. I have a BA in Psychology, but needed to take all the nursing prereqs. I don't know of any online pre-nursing program offhand, but that doesn't mean there isn't one--I just didn't bother to look. I took all of my prereqs at the local community college and did many of them online (though labs and exams were in person). It wasn't super fast (took me 2 years while working full-time), but it was economical.
Good luck!
